RENEGADE is the debut album by James Toseland, a former super bike champion who retired from professional motorsport in 2011 due to a wrist injury.
He is married to Katie Melua and embarked on a solo career after parting with his band, Crash. The majority of time spent listening to this album was spent with one headphone in and the volume set to as low as possible, which was still too high!
Although I don’t normally listen to rock music, I enjoyed some of the softer music on this album. The power ballad Just No Way provided a welcome break in the middle.
There is a lot of emotion that comes across in Toseland’s performance.
The lyrics clearly convey a struggle to stop loving someone, an experience many people can relate to.
