EVER wondered why dinosaurs are extinct? What Peter Andre's new album will sound like? Or what Michael Jackson would look like while getting petrol?

Lee Evans has all the answers in his new show, Monsters, at the BIC this week, as part of the first leg of his mammoth 50 date tour.

The show is his most ambitious to date, playing the biggest arenas in the country, but he could not have been happier to start in Bournemouth at a venue he has been playing for 20 years.

The legendary funny man swore, sweated and nervously giggled his way through the set, which covered everyday topics including marriage, going out, eating in, mobile phones, aquariums, passwords and greetings.

He was rewarded with a standing ovation for his comedic efforts, before launching into a touching musical tribute to his wife of 30 years and finishing off with an old favourite routine.

The delight in Evans' observations is that you can relate to each situation, which is why the audience was full of fans of all ages.

It's clear the feeling is mutual, as Evans effusively thanked the crowd and BIC staff for their kindness and appreciation.

Brilliantly funny.
