ROB and Josie Da Bank invited everyone to a giant disco in Robin Hill Country Park this weekend and proved once again that if you are going to go to a festival over the summer then Bestival is the place to be.

How could they possibly go wrong when you have the world’s largest disco ball, the world’s best disco group and forty thousand people happy to dress up and Dance, Dance, Dance. Even the sun stayed out for the whole four days which in its self is a rarity at a British festival.

As always there was plenty going on around the site so if you never managed to make it to the main stage there was more than enough to keep you happy, and that’s one of the great things about Bestival. From the mighty Foals playing their last gig for the foreseeable future to a rammed crowd on the main stage to a small tent called The Peoples Front Room with a carpet, sofa and piano where a spent a relaxing half hour having a cup of tea and a sit down. It’s a great change from many festivals where it’s the main stage, big top or nothing.

Year after year this weekend proves to be the friendliest and happiest festival around. Everyone you speak to who had been to other festivals over the summer describes it as the Best-Of-All and that’s why it continues to sell out where other events have struggled to survive.

With so much going on over a pretty large site its difficult for one person to catch everything but I did my best to take it all in. Highlights of the weekend were Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip playing their last gig together in the big top, Outkast rocking the main stage on Friday night, local(ish) band Kassasin Street on the bandstand and of course headliners Chic rounding off a sunny Sunday with a set of solid gold disco hits providing the perfect end to the perfect festival.

I am not sure what Rob and Josie are planning but I will definitely be back next year and I hope to see you there for a weekend full of fun, laughter, great acts and plenty of surprises.
