PEOPLE with a head for heights and a sense of adventure were well catered for at the Big Bournemouth Adventure Weekend.

Whether you wanted to navigate a laser maze or race around a Zorb circuit, there were activities for all ages and abilities.

The main attraction was a terrifying leap of faith Free Drop tower, where you could jump from either a high or a very high platform onto a massive air pad.

It looked easy enough but standing on the edge and preparing to jump was a real test of nerve - it felt unnatural, difficult and very, very scary.

A Spiderman climbing wall, where you used magnets strapped on to your hands and legs to climb up a smooth wall, was almost as popular, as was the Zorb circuit.

The roller rink was brilliant and there were lots of smaller, supplementary activities, from beat the goalie to arts and crafts.

This weekend is a great idea, particularly for autumn or winter because it is all indoors and you are guaranteed a whole day of fun.

It's competitively priced at £8.50 per person, although I heard many adults questioning why they had to pay just to accompany their children.

But there needs to be another two or three major attractions to spread the crowds out and keep the queues down. Waiting for over an hour just to freefall for 2 seconds is a test of your patience as well as your nerve.

All in all, a fabulous concept that just needs a little fine tuning.
