A FEAST of Baroque music is promised at an ambitious concert.

Lyme Bay Chorale are performing the musical treat at St Michael’s Church, Lyme Regis, on Sunday, November 23 from 4.30pm.

Musical director Alex Davies conducts a professional chamber orchestra, soloists and choir brought together to perform Handel’s Foundling Hospital Anthem, Vivaldi’s Dixit Dominus RV594 and excerpts from Purcell’s Ode to St Cecilia.

Internationally-acclaimed soprano Philippa Hyde will be joining the team of local professional soloists which include Chloe Stratta, Julie De’Ath Lancaster, Leslie Baker and David Fouracre.

Philippa is a member of the chamber group Musicke Companye and regularly performs with the Academy of Ancient Music. She has performed with many leading period orchestras and regularly appears at the South Bank and Wigmore Hall.

Philippa will share singing the solo movements and sing the soprano duets with Chloe Stratta, who has recently had the opportunity to meet up and work with her for this concert.

Chloe recently sang Pie Jesu during a performance of Faure Requiem at St Michael’s Church in Lyme Regis during a Remembrance Sunday concert.
