ANYBODY who claims they can't dance should have been at the BIC to see The Human League's concert on Saturday night.
Here's why: There was absolutely no way the packed audience was going to remain seated throughout new wave, dance and synth sounds created by the group.
It wasn't about dancing well, but just making the most of the opportunity to see the 80s band hailing from Sheffield live and performing as well as ever.
Their song Love Action (I Believe In Love) saw every audience member jump to their feet as fast as lightning as Philip Oakey and female vocalists Joanne Catherall and Susan Anne Sully blared out the words. Other tracks, including Mirror Man, Fascination, Electric Dreams and Don't You Want Me, proved just as, if not more, popular.
Staged on a bright white stair case, the group members and supporting musicians went from wearing all white, to all black, to finally some very risqué outfits for the encore.
Behind them were bright LCD screens offering multicoloured swirling and spinning special effects and visuals of roads and other scenery, with added something to the show.
This was certainly a gig for adults, as the music would have been way before any teens's time, but it seemed a huge blast-from-the-past in terms of being taken back to younger years and a great night of live music for everyone.
