FROM the moment the dinner-suited members of the London Concert Orchestra walked onto the stage to take their seats, it was clear this was going to be a classy affair.
Strictly Come Dancing favourites Anton du Beke and his partner Erin Boag – back touring again after taking time off to have a baby – returned to the Pavilion stage in a whirl of velvet and sequins for their latest show, That’s Entertainment.
The pair danced – and sang, although I have to say I certainly preferred the former – their way through the evening to those big band classics which never fail to raise a smile, such as No Business Like Show Business, Sing Sing Sing (With a Swing) and Make ‘Em Laugh.
Singer Lance Ellington, also of Strictly fame, joined the duo once again, adding a touch of style to the proceedings with his effortlessly smooth voice, and the energetic backing dancers also deserve a mention.
No Anton and Erin show is complete without a question and answer session, and the audience were in raptures at responses to questions about onesies, teaching advice and, of course, Anton’s succession of celebrity partners.
Strictly sensational!
