This Texas band is one heck of a high-energy shout-fest.
The punk sounding (409) is the new album from boy-girl-boy band Purple.
With lots shouting, catchy hooks and high-octane anthems, the album literally shouts at you to pay attention- pouncing down the headphones and reverberating around the brain.
There's a girl smashing up a van with an axe on the front cover and a picture of cockroaches on the inside - it's that kind of album.
As the band say themselves "(409) is an album with sand in its shoes.”
The album is a full-on punk-rock experience and probably won’t be one for the collections of The Guide’s older readers, however, younger readers and rebels will love it.
It’s like a mix of bubblegum pop, an amp turned up to 11 and some gravel thrown into a blender.
Some of it is less than harmonious and features gritty juxtapositions, loud guitars and yes, lots of screaming.
Its all a lot of don’t-take-yourself-too-seriously shouty fun..
