THIS album ticks all the boxes – catchy enough to sing to after one listen, complex enough to keep you listening after the 100th play.

I had never come across Twin Shadow before, but I am very glad I have now.

Twin Shadow is George Lewis Jr and his third album ‘Eclipse’ has just been released.

Full of soul searching, lost love and uplifting choruses, this is half made for an arena tour and half made for a quiet intimate gig- from start to finish it is a joy.

Big choruses, catchy guitar riffs, raw vocals and emotional lyrics make this a stand out for me in the sea of pop/rock 80s inspired albums currently available.

Highlights for me are opener Flatliners – a stunning blend of vocals, guitars and layered synths and drums, Eclipse- a sing-a-long classic, I’m Ready and Locked and Loaded, two songs both heavy in optimism and focus and Old Love/New Love is an homage to 80s electro- all bouncy beats and synths.

Twin Shadow recorded, produced and engineered most of the album by himself in the dark of night in a historic chapel and that comes through in the spacious feel of the album.

He’s a name you may not know- but you definitely should.
