FRANKIE Valli has sold over 100 million records during his career and with the musical Jersey Boys doing so well around the world, that figure is only going to keep growing.

So tonight was a celebration of the career of a musician who has performed with everyone who is anyone in the world of music, including Dylan and Elvis.

When you can walk on to the stage and open your set with Grease, then follow it with songs like My Eyes Adored You and Spanish Harlem, it was almost guaranteed that anyone who had a ticket for this sold-out show was never going to leave the BIC without a smile on their face and a tune in their head that will stick in there for days to come. And that was just the first half!

After a brief interval, the second half opened with Working My Way Back To You and continued with Silence Is Golden, December 63 and so many other hits some of them had to be included in a medley just to fit them all in.

The last two songs were Rag Doll and Let's Hang On. The crowd were on their feet and the evening came to an end much too soon.

At 81 and probably not short of the odd dollar or two, he must be doing this because he loves to perform to an audience. Why else would he put himself through the rigours of being on the road? And I for one am glad that he did because it was a great night of pure entertainment that will stay with me and everyone else that was there for a long time.
