Three things I know about James Bay; he always dons a signature black hat. Fact. He wears tighter than tight black skinny jeans. Fact. And boy does that boy have talent.

He rocked on to the stage with an impressive electric guitar solo and dazzling strobe show which got the crowd’s toes tapping but it didn’t take long until Bay was blasting out his soulful acoustic ballads, which got everyone singing/sobbing along.

Singer-songwriter Bay then yo-yoed through hits from his debut album Chaos and the Calm from tear-jerkers Scars and Let it Go to lively tracks such as Craving and Best Fake Smile.

This year's Critics Choice Award winner banged out hit out of hit. But no one was expecting his cover of Alicia Keys’ If I Ain’t Got You which stole the night demonstrating his impressive vocal range and undeniable talent on the guitar.

It was Bay’s first time in Bournemouth and let’s hope it is not his last.
