THE electrifying energy of Stomp is once again drawing fans to Southampton's Mayflower Theatre this week.

This infectious and exciting show is nearing its 23rd birthday but it's ability to wow an audience remains the same as its opening night.

There are just eight performers on the stage but they make as much noise and create as great an atmosphere as a huge carnival.

Most of you will know this show involves the ingenious use of basic items such as brooms and dustbin lids to create a beat that has everyone, well, stomping.

The lively routines are performed with ease but the energy required to perform this show should not be under-estimated, not to mention the astonishing percussion skills.

Stomp doesn't have an interval because to interrupt the show and destroy the momentum it builds would be frankly rude.

More than a million people have seen Stomp worldwide and if you're one of them, don't think you've seen it all because you haven't.

There's new choreography, new routines and even more comedy to give it a totally fresh feel.

And audience participation is cleverly introduced to make you feel part of the experience.

Get down to the Mayflower between now and Saturday night to ensure you see this new version before it moves on to France on the next leg of this hugely successful tour.
