After a hectic week at work and four gigs in five days it would have been really easy to stay at home on Friday night.

As it happened, going to this gig was exactly what I needed and supplied the perfect end to the week.

Caro took a venue the size of the BIC and transformed it into a cozy jazz club with matching ambiance that provided the perfect atmosphere to unwind in.

Appearing on the floor behind the seated crowd, Caro opened the set with The Other Woman before making her way to the stage where she continued on with Absolutely Me and Riviera Life.

The six-piece band provided the perfect accompaniment for an evening that varied from smooth, soulful jazz to faster, get up and dance tunes that did indeed have the whole place up on their feet.

A well balanced set that contained the more well known songs such as That Man and the odd cover including All About That Bass all delivered by a singer with a fine voice who seemed to be really enjoying herself.

Its often the case that when you go to a gig by an artist you know very little about and have no pre-conceived expectations of it turns out to be a lovely surprise.

Tonight was a great example of this and I am so glad that I went as I discovered music that I would not normally listen to and I loved every minute of it.
