AN UNSIGNED band tipped for great things will join The Libertines and The Enemy in Bournemouth this month.

Indie-rockers The Sherlocks are part of a triple bill at the BIC on Friday, January 29 and with a new single also set for release, it’s a dream start to 2016, according to frontman Kiaran Crook.

“To be asked to play our first arena tour as an unsigned band is incredible and to be alongside two acts that we’ve always loved is the icing on cake.

“We start in Birmingham and Cardiff before heading down to Bournemouth. It’s our first set of shows of the year so things are definitely starting with a bang!”

Lead singer-songwriter Kiaran, his brother and drummer Brandon, lead guitarist Josh Davidson and his brother and bassist Andy were in the crowd watching Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell when The Libertines played at Leeds festival last summer.

“We couldn’t have imagined then that weeks later we’d be alongside them and our good friends from The Enemy in some of the country’s greatest venues” said Kiaran.

“None of us could believe it when we were first told. We were at band practice in Sheffield when Brandon took the phone call. For a moment it seemed like a joke. Now we’re counting the days to when it all starts!"

Their set will include Last Night, which was revealed last week by Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music and Huw Stephens on Radio One to be the band’s next single.

“A year ago we’d never gigged in the south, but that’s all changed now” said Kiaran.

“Now we’re really looking forward to coming to Bournemouth, We know it’s a great place, especially now you’ve a high-flying Premier League football team too!”

Like The Cherries, the hard-working band of brothers have had an astonishing last twelve months.

They’ve played the Isle of Wight festival twice, made their debut on BBC Radio One with their electrifying single Heart of Gold and have determinedly continued what they call ‘the tour that never ends’ at gigs and festivals across Great Britain.

With signature tunes like Chasing Shadows, Blue, Live for the Moment and Escapade, they continue the industrious Sheffield sound that their city is so famous for.

Tickets £39. For more information visit thesherlocksmusic.co.uk. Their latest single, Last Night, is released later in the Spring and will be available for download on ITunes.
