Many people would have been tempted to stay indoors instead of venturing out of the house on a wet miserable Tuesday night but if they had they would have missed a show that may turn out to be one of my surprise hits of the year.

Bournemouth Echo:

This was a gig with a real sense of warmth and love between Shane and a more than enthusiastic audience who were enthralled by his every word and move (he couldn’t take that jacket off too many times for the largely female following.

After a lovely mellow start to the gig with slower paced songs from his latest solo album and the Westlife back catalogue Shane got the crowd on their feet with Shut Up and Dance With Me followed by World Of Our Own.

It was then back to the slower tunes and a bit of banter with the crowd before it was back to Westlife with their fifth number one Fool Again.

The set list this evening was a good balance of Shane's solo work and his larger back catalogue. The older material was really well received but with songs of the quality of Knee Deep in My Heart the new stuff more than held its own.

The stage set up and light show were over and above what you would normally expect away from the larger venues and perfectly complemented the mood of the evening.

Shane may be playing smaller gigs than he was used to in Westlife but if he maintains this feeling of love and keeps producing new material of the quality of songs on Right Here he has shown that he has everything he needs to go on and achieve the same level of success all over again.
