HAMMING IT UP FOR ARTSREACH
THE FABULOUS BACON BOYS
Winterborne Stickland Village Hall
YOU know you are in for a riotous evening of fun, music and laughter when you go to see a show by the two talented Bristol –based Living Spit artists.
In this zany new production, written and performed by Howard Coggins and Stu Mcloughlin, the story line is none other than that of the nursery rhyme of the Three Little Pigs who built a house of straw, another of wood and one of bricks and how, by the hair of their chinny chin chins, they did battle with the wicked wolf.
In this version, all told in rhyming couplets with musical accompaniment by the two men on double bass, guitar and ukulele, the three pigs are transformed into three brothers, Kevin, Chris P, and Francis Bacon while the wolf is a girl called Wanda.
With lots of daft dialogue, silly songs and audience participation, the evening is definitely one to treasure as the Bacon Boys get tangled up not only with the trio of houses but also with the heavy mob over a pot of gold with a cast of dozens all played by the two boys.
The ingenious plot and stunning performances of Howard and Stu make the whole thing an unmissable piece of theatre in the finest tradition of slapstick comedy.
Brought to Dorset under the auspices of Artsreach, the show returns to Halstock on May 26, Sandford Orcas on May 27 and Child Okeford on June 29.
