What a show! Hans Zimmer blew through the roof with a ground breaking performance at the BIC on the 28th of May. Zimmer played to a full house that ranged from music fanatics to movie geeks, starting the show by playing the piano.
Half way through the show Zimmer made a heartfelt speech about Heath Ledger (former Joker from Batman) and the Aurora victims. This was followed by a piece written in their memory. The heart wrenching composition had the audience screaming for more.
Overall the show was fantastically arranged with a talented soloist on cello (Tina Guo), and Mike Einziger on guitar (from Incubus). With amazing acoustics and artistic lighting, the overall dynamic of the orchestra was an extraordinary experience.
Going through all the well known soundtracks such as 'Pirates of the Caribbean', 'Batman', and 'Interstellar', Zimmer and his orchestra managed to get an encore and a standing ovation at the end of the show.
I can say that this is the best live performance I have ever been to, and would take any opportunity to see Zimmer again!
