WHEN you’re three-years-old, this is about as good as a Saturday afternoon gets.
Think Glastonbury for 18-year-olds or Tom Jones for your granny – it’s just as thrilling.
Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre was buzzing with excitement as hundreds of little people, dressed to the nines, turned out to see their favourite TV character in the flesh.
There’s no denying it, Peppa Pig is a big deal, proved by the number of bottoms on seats, not to mention the queues at the merchandise stall.
For parents who’ve been living in an underground bunker, Peppa is an endearing little character who lives with her brother, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig.
Her extended family and friends including Danny Dog and Susie Sheep are known to millions.
This show is all about Peppa’s surprise day out to the seaside and little ones were on their feet, singing, dancing and loving the panto-style audience participation.
Peppa Pig's Surprise was only an hour long, but that’s probably about right for an audience so young. Despite their excitement they were starting to fidget just before a well-time interval.
The much-needed toilet break and trip to the ice cream stall helped to recharge their batteries for a fun-filled second half.
Tickets are still available for three shows tomorrow (Sunday October 16) at 10am, 1pm and 4pm.
