• WATCH some world class volleyball on Weymouth Beach this weekend.

Teams from Great Britain, Europe and the rest of the world will compete on the resort’s golden sands.

Spectator stands will be set up and everyone can catch the action for free.

The Dorset and Hampshire Championship is today from 2pm, while the men and women’s main draw is on Saturday from 9.30am to 6pm.

Sunday is finals day with matches taking place from 10am.

  • ORGANISERS call it ‘the Greatest Family Show on Earth’ and it’s coming to Lulworth Castle this weekend.

Camp Bestival has pitched up for the weekend and features an avalanche of activities for children.

They will be entertained by an insect circus, big top mania and a fully interactive fire truck to celebrate the release of Planes 2: Fire and Rescue.

Visitors will also get the chance to experience a fully interactive game where they will fly as characters Dusty and Dipper, and help protect the National Park, extinguishing fires as airborne fire fighters.

Providing the music are Basement Jaxx, James and Sinead O’Connor.

  • THE Spirit of Portland comes to an end on Sunday with a fireworks finale at Portland Marina. There will be a day of fun at the marina including stalls and fireworks.

Entry to Portland Museum is free on Sunday from 10.30am.

On Saturday, party on the pavement with a street party in Wakeham from 2pm and enjoy the Royal Portland Arms Cricket Club’s continental and craft ales festival at the Drill Hall, Easton, from 12pm to 10.30pm.

It starts at 10am with a car boot sale and there will be a dog show from 11am and live music with a bar from noon.

The day is a chance for people to see how the Charminster farm works, with adults with learning disabilities benefitting from pre work experience at Cowden Care Farm.

Supporting the Help a Friend Help a Friend fund in memory of county town musician Steve Charles, the festival features a main stage and smaller acoustic stage with acts including The Skones, Howling at the Moon and The Dinnerladies.
