Simon Pegg has revealed he is working on a new film with Edgar Wright.

The Hector And The Search For Happiness star, whose collaborations with the filmmaker include the Cornetto Trilogy and sitcom Spaced, told BBC 6 Music that the project "has a title and everything".

"It will happen. We made three films in 10 years and hopefully in the next decade we'll make another three," he told host Edith Bowman.

Simon said the new series of films will not be a continuation of the Cornetto series.

"When we said the trilogy was over, it was because that group of films was over. They're all kind of related with each other and deal with a specific idea. There's a criteria to those films," he continued.

The 44-year-old actor added: "The next thing we do won't do that, it will just be something else."

Simon didn't say whether his co-star Nick Frost would be involved in the proposed film, and gave no hint about when the movie might go into production.

Edgar and Simon last worked together on The World's End, which was released in 2013. It was the final instalment of the Cornetto Trilogy, which began 10 years ago with Shaun Of The Dead, and continued with Hot Fuzz in 2007.

The filmmaker, who pulled out of Marvel's Ant-Man in May after eight years of negotiations, is working on a new film, Baby Driver, described as a "a collision of crime, action, music and sound".

Simon, who will next voice a character in The Boxtrolls, has a number of films coming up. He is starring in Terry Jones' comedy Absolutely Anything and British rom-com Man Up. He is also set to reprise his roles in Mission: Impossible 5 and Star Trek 3.
