Mulan is the latest Disney classic to get the live-action treatment.

Following in the footsteps of Cinderella, Maleficent and Alice In Wonderland, Disney is now looking to remake the tale about the Chinese warrior with live actors.

The studio has bought a script by writers Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek, while Chris Bender and JC Spink from We’re The Millers will be producing the new project, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The original film, released in 1998, featured the voice of Ming-Na Wen as Fa Mulan, a female warrior who disguises herself as a man so she can take her father’s place in the army and go to war.

The movie, which also starred Eddie Murphy as the voice of Mulan’s dragon sidekick Mushu, earned Oscar and Golden Globe nominations and spawned a sequel, Mulan II.

Other Disney films that are being re-imagined with live actors include Beauty And The Beast, starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, The Jungle Book directed by Jon Favreau, and Dumbo, which will be brought to life by Tim Burton.
