Jay McGuiness jived his way to a perfect 10 from judge Bruno Tonioli and sparked the biggest betting shake up in the history of Strictly Come Dancing.

Following his performance, the first to ever receive a 10 in the third week of the BBC’s ballroom series, The Wanted singer’s odds to win were slashed from 3/1 to 11/8, making him the new favourite.

Previous dead-cert Peter Andre is currently priced at 7/2.

William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly said: “If the final was tomorrow Jay would win at a canter. The contestants have to hope he has peaked early.”

Jay and partner Aliona Vilani’s slick jive combined Misirlou and You Never Can Tell from Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction for Strictly’s movie-themed week.

The 25-year-old looked stunned as he collected 37 points and was declared a box office hit by the judges.

Strictly’s colourful Movie Week was also a smash with the public as an average of nine million viewers tuned in.

Here’s a little glimpse of the action behind the scenes of Movie Week…

The celebrity chef is pictured getting ready for his penguin-inspired cha cha cha inspired by Happy Feet. He ended up in the dance off, but boxer Anthony Ogogo was voted out of the series.

Looks like we’re heading for a Gunfight at the O.K. Corral as Peter is no longer the favourite to win Strictly. However, he’s still a huge hit with the public.

Katie Derham

Broadcaster Katie had a disaster with her surprisingly flat cha cha cha inspired by the movie Pretty Woman. But she looks wonderfully glamorous backstage at Elstree Studios.

The Force was with the EastEnders star as she performed a superb Charleston to Cantina Band from Star Wars.

But before her routine, Kellie took part in the spectacular opening to the show, giving viewers a little movie magic courtesy of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday October 17 on BBC One at 6:30pm.
