EPOCH-DEFINING literature is brought to the stage next week when Hybrid Productions presents One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest at the Bay Theatre in Weymouth.

The play is set in a mental institution that manages to tick over quite calmly, until the arrival of Randall McMurphy throws everything into disarray and causes his fellow inmates to question the authority of the ward’s fearsome overseer, Nurse Ratched.

The action that follows reaches comic heights but also plumbs the depths of tragedy, in a thought-provoking production based on one of the most important pieces of modern literature.

Hybrid productions is made up of students from Weymouth College’s acting foundation course and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is directed by Chris Corben and stars Oliver Smith, Lily Kate Seymour, Conrad Goodwin and Dan Taylor.

The show is in the Bay Theatre, Weymouth College, Cranford Avenue, Weymouth, on January 16 at 7.30pm and tickets are £8 plus concessions, available from 01305 208702.
