POLISH your chrome and get ready to rev as April 1 sees the first BLD Dream Machines of 2014 roar into action.

Organised by Poole Tourism, the largest weekly motorcycle meet in the UK will see Poole Quay buzzing as more than 1000 bikes gather every Tuesday evening from April 1 until the end of September.

Attended by novices and enthusiasts from across the UK and beyond, Poole Quay is closed to all traffic, except motorbikes, cre-ating a truly spectacular display for visitors.

The backdrop of the Quay and harbour offers the perfect location to show off a superb range of motorbikes where bikers and spectators enjoy a unique relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

And with a great selection of waterside cafes, bars, restaurants and food kiosks to enjoy during the event, it is the perfect place to relax and have a bite to eat.

Stuart Dobson, BLD’s operations director, said: “Many of those who come are local, but the reputation of Dream Machines has grown so much that enthusiasts from across the UK regularly attend.

“Having been involved in the event for a couple of years now we’ve seen everything from custom builds to home restoration projects and iconic designs, so the variety of bikes on display is amazing.

“The enthusiasm and passion of everyone involved from the bikers to the marshals is fantastic.

“It’s one of the reasons we wanted to be involved and it’s something we are really proud to support.”

BLD Dream Machines is a fully-marshalled event with a £1 entry charge. Bike enthusiasts can purchase a season armband for £8.50 on the Tuesday event nights, which includes a £1 non-refundable entry fee, or £7.50 in advance.

Armbands are limited to 1450 in total and available from the Welcome Centre on Poole Quay. Bruce Grant-Braham, chairman of the Poole Tourism Partnership, said: “Dream Machines is one of Poole’s most popular events and we’re looking for-ward to a fantastic year with the new sponsors BLD.

“Its return means that summer has really started in Poole.”
