The Friends of Beaminster Festival continue the theme of supporting young performers in St Mary’s Church, Beaminster on Saturday at 3pm with a recital on the Skrabl organ by Glen Dempsey.

Glen is currently Organ Scholar at St George’s Chapel Windsor and has recently won the Organ Scholarship to St John’s College Cambridge.

At the age of fourteen he conducted Handel’s Messiah when he was a student at the Purcell School.

He is already in demand as an organist, pianist and conductor as well as singing in the Rodolfus Choir. He also accompanies the Windsor and Eton Choral Society and the Eton Choral Society at Eton College.

Glen has a particular love of music from the Baroque period and his specially chosen programme to suite the Beaminster organ will include pieces by Bach, Mendelssohn and Schumann.
