A CARNIVOROUS musical is coming to All Saints School in Weymouth this week.

Students are performing Little Shop of Horrors tomorrow Thursday and Friday.

They have put together their own interpretation of the comedy horror rock musical.

The musical is about a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood and flesh.

When put upon schmuck Seymour Krelborn finds a strange and unusual plant, things seem to be looking up at Mushnik’s Skid Row Florist. The only catch seems to be the macabre diet that the Audrey II needs to flourish. And this is no ordinary plant.

It is a pod with a plan. Throw into this mix a damsel in distress in the shape of the lovely Audrey, a sadistic dentist (Orin Scrivello DDS) and a scheming florist, Mr Mushnik, and you have all the ingredients needed for a memorable experience.

The musical premiered Off-Off-Broadway in 1982 before moving to the Orpheum Theatre Off-Broadway, where it had a five-year run.

It later received numerous productions in the US and abroad, and a subsequent Broadway production.

It was also made into a film in 1986, starring Rick Moranis.

Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7 pm performance.

Tickets cost £5 for adults, £4 for children and can either be purchased in advance from the school or on the door.

Becky Valera plays Seymour Krelborn, Bonnie Carroll plays Audrey and Vicky Limm plays Orin Scrivello DDS.
