THE birth of Bangladesh will be charted at Bridport’s Lyric Theatre on Friday September 12.
In The Tiger and The Moustache, Saikat Ahamed will talk about his home country and the story of his mother, from Barisal to Birmingham and beyond.
Born on the very first day of a new nation, Hashi, the girl who always smiles, grew up surrounded by flying tigers in the Sunderban jungles. In his highly acclaimed solo show The Tiger and the Moustache, Saikat Ahamed traces the journey of Hashi, his mother, and the emerging nation of Bangladesh.
The piece tells a captivating tale, both personal and political, through storytelling, theatre, music, dance and a healthy amount of humour.
Saikat Ahamed is known to television audiences through his regular parts on Monday Monday (ITV) and Trollied (Sky TV) whilst his films include East is East and This Must be the Place.
Doors open at 7:30pm and the performance starts at 8pm.
