Bridport Arts Centre will host a poetry reading morning on October 17 and has invited members of the public to nominate their favourite pieces for the programme.

David Bushrod, Christine Prideaux and Margie Barbour will be present to read through the favourites as well as a few of their own from 11am, to raise funds for the Bridport Museum and Bridport Arts 40th anniversary fund.

The director of the museum, Emily Hicks will sing favourite songs accompanied by supporter Bruce Upton on the magnificent Estonian Grand piano.

Suggestions of poems for the readers or songs for Emily should be given to the Bridport Arts Centre, either delivered to the box office or via email at info@bridport-arts.com by October 10. Dedications can accompany a choice of poem so the readers can say who the piece is read for and why it was chosen.

Tickets are £6 or £5 for members and concessions from the box office. Call 01308 424204 or visit bridport-arts.com.
