A PLAY inspired by the unique life of a pioneer aviator is to be performed at Weymouth College.

Lost in Transmission is an original play inspired by the refreshing, unique life of Amelia Earhart.

A public icon, heroine and household name, Earhart, changed aviation history, and became the first person to fly solo across the Pacific Ocean.

Publically she was perceived as an inspiration for women of the time but privately Earhart’s story reveals a more complex life that challenges her media image and asks us to consider why people in the public eye feel the need to hide who they truly are.

Despite her success, the mystery of Amelia’s tragic disappearance remains unsolved, with many agencies claiming answers to what happened in her final hours.

Freshly Squeezed Theatre company take a new look at the evidence. Why was it that no one listened to the 15-year-old girl who may have had the answer?

Seventy seven years later elderly Betty Klenck still has a story to tell and the current search is closer than ever to finding Earhart’s resting place. Is the mystery finally solved? Can the real personality behind the public image be finally revealed?

Lost in Transmission is at the Bay Theatre, Weymouth College, on Thursday, January 15 from 7.30pm.

Tickets are available on the door and cost £7 for adults, £5 for concessions and is free for those with season tickets.
