THE ‘comedian’s comedian’ Stewart Lee will be heading to Dorset on tour in the build up to his new TV series.

Stewart Lee will be performing his new tour A Room with a Stew in Poole and Bridport as part of a national tour where he will be deploying his incendiary comedy and building material for his fourth BAFTA and Comedy Award-winning BBC TV series, Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle.

Throughout the show, Stewart will explore new subjects and try-out brand new material, by turns moody, intelligent, infantile, angry, abstruse and surreal and add and cut sections as he goes.

He started his career in the mid-90s in radio and has toured extensively as a comedian, written music reviews, co-written and co-directed Jerry Springer: The Musical and won awards and praise along the way.

In 2009 The Times named him the ‘face of the decade’ and called him the ‘comedian's comedian, and for good reason.’

The Independent praised his new show saying: "He is ...the only comedian who can get away with deconstructing and critiquing his own routines as he goes along and not be repellent. He, and his material, are simply that good."

He will be at the Lighthouse in Poole on Friday April 24 and he will also be at Bridport’s Electric Palace on April 27.
