GO back to the time when England stood alone against the massed ranks of Hitler's troops.

Weymouth Drama Club are presenting Dad's Army at Weymouth Pavilion from April 16 to 18.

This adaptation of Dad’s Army was written by David Croft and Jimmy Perry and includes three episodes taken from the popular original television series, The Deadly Attachment (the one with the u-boat captain), Mum’s Army and The Godiva Affair.

The evening is rounded off with a specially written musical piece which should get everyone humming on their way home.

The large cast includes some new members who have really enjoyed recreating the characters that we all know and love as well as saying those famous catchphrases 'Don’t Panic'.

Dad's Army is directed by Derek Sawtell, assisted by Cherralyn Bush and Alan Knight and includes a large cast.

The main roles are being played by Andy Neve as Captain Mainwaring, Rob Tripp as Sergeant Wilson, Ralph Wheeler as Corporal Jones, Richard Hook as Pike, Glen Ingram as Fraser Richard Lawson as Godfrey, and Dan Almond as Warden Hodges

Playing the female characters are Julie Knight as Mrs Fox and Caroline Portsmouth as Edith Parish.

The performances are at 7.30pm and all tickets are £12.
