A CULTURE-CROSSING tale is returning to the Story Cafe.
Shonaleigh Cumbers is returning for the third year to the café at Bridport Arts Centre on Friday May 15.
The Diamond Girl & The Goat-Horn Bee is a story about a day when everything changes - what should have been the happy ending is the beginning of the nightmare.
A blessing has become a curse and the only thing that can save them all is a firewolf, an icefish, a snow tear and a goat-horn bee.
Described as ‘a modern day Shaharazad’, Shonaleigh is a drut’syla, an oral storyteller in the Jewish tradition, with an extraordinary cache of hundreds of tales learned as a child from her grandmother.
She is one of the foremost storytellers on the British scene, appearing at venues around the country as well as travelling globally.
Doors open at 7pm and the storytelling begins at 7.30pm. The evening is suitable for adults and older children.
Booking in advance is advisable from the Bridport Arts Centre.
