STUDENTS are to perform a thrilling tragi-comedy tonight (7) at the Bay Theatre at Weymouth College.

The Farndale Avenue Dramatic Society welcomes an audience to its thrilling (some would say original in the extreme!) production of Shakespeare’s classic tragi-comedy ‘The Scottish Play!’, referred to accordingly for good luck.

The Farndale Dramatic Society’s production of Macbeth is the second full length play to be performed by Freshly Squeezed Theatre, Weymouth College’s Foundation Degree in Actor Training student company.

The group's previous show was a devised piece based on the life of Amelia Earhart ‘Lost in Transmission'.

In this uproarious and hilarious comedy, the intrepid ladies of the Farndale Dramatic Society, together with their daring director and stage manager, Henry are hoping that their production of ‘Macbeth’ will guarantee them a place in the prestigious drama finals at Welwyn Garden City.

However, events conspire to ensure that everything will not be alright on the night. Lady Macbeth misses her bus stop and ends up miles away, so that Henry must manfully step into the breach, without his glasses, but still with his resplendent moustache!

Can these intrepid ladies rise to the occasion? Will they reach the finals in Welwyn Garden City? Come and join us to find out on a side-splitting rollercoaster ride that sees the Farndale Ladies do to ‘Macbeth’ what ‘Video did to the Radio Star’!

The performance starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £7 for adults and £5 for concessions.
