AN ANARCHIC version of the Canterbury Tales is coming to various Dorset venues.

It is being brought to Weymouth, Dorchester and other locations by the Wessex Actors Company.

This version of the Chaucer classic is created by Phil Woods and Michael Bogdanov.

The cast of seven take on about 50 roles.

They will each take a tale to tell and then perform various supporting roles in each other’s 'tale' in this ‘normal’ English language version of the old classic.

Set in the present, with each tale as a stand-alone piece, linked by a Master of Ceremonies, the approach is deliberately un-academic with the aim still being to entertain, but with all the spirit of the original’s sense of chivalry and satire.

For outdoor venues tickets are available directly from WAC on their website at www.wessex-actors-company.co.uk, or by you can send your cheque plus a stamped addressed envelope to WAC Tickets, 90 Sopers Lane, Poole, BH17 7EU.
