A BIT of Hollywood is coming to the Regent Centre in Christchurch.

Bournemouth Concert Brass annual summer concert promises hits, classics and standards from Oscar winning film musicals at a special concert on June 21.

Hollywood and Broadway 2015, conducted by Bill Willis, will feature music from everything from that Gilbert & Sullivan evergreen, The Mikado, to Steven Spielberg’s award winning 1987 film, The Empire of the Sun, which was the movie that gave Bournemouth’s own Christian Bale his first starring role aged just 13 years at the time.

The bBand’s resident conductor, Bill Willis is in charge of the baton for the evening. Bill has been with the band since 1993 and has written some of the arrangements for this year’s concert.

Bournemouth Concert Brass have had a long and distinguished history.

The band was formerly called the Bournemouth Silver Band, which was born at the turn of the century in Boscombe and Southbourne.

The concert begins at 7.30pm. Contact Ken Taken on 01202 692044 for tickets.
