CONTINUING our look through the postcard collection of Dorchester's Derek Pride, here's an old photo of the Depot Barracks in Dorchester, now the Keep Military Museum.
The barracks were built between 1877 and 1881.
They became the depot for the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the Dorset Regiment in 1881.
In 1958 the Dorset Regiment amalgamated with the Devonshire Regiment to form the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment and Regimental Headquarters were re-located to Exeter.
Today the building remains the property of the MoD and the museum, now a private charity, leases the premises.
