FANS of Northern Soul will be flocking to Weymouth Pavilion tomorrow night.

The South Coast Soul Show will feature Russ Winstanley, the pioneer of the music and dance movement.

The movement began at Wigan Casino and Russ himself will be playing a few tunes.

It will be held in the Ocean Room of Weymouth Pavilion from 8pm to 1am.

Music lovers will also be able to enjoy some SKA/Twotone and 1970s soul/reggae thrown in.

Organiser Alan Graham said: "I've organised the evening because if you are my age, between 50 and 60, something like this is an evening of real nostalgia.

"It's a chance for people to go back in time and listen to Northern Soul records.

"It should bring it all back for anyone who wants to come along."

The evening will feature archive video footage on display of Wigan Casino, the dancers and some of the artists who sang the songs.

There will also be some historic artefacts on display and for sale.

Russ will also be happy to answer any questions people wish to put to him and will be talking about the history of Northern Soul.

He will also be available to sign autographs.
