POPULAR opera Rossini’s The Barber of Seville is being screened live from the English National Opera at 7.30pm on October 19.

It will be shown at the Plaza, Dorchester, the Odeon, Dorchester and Cineworld, Weymouth.

The classic comedy, featuring man-with-a-plan Figaro, will have the audience laughing from the start in Jonathan Miller’s much-loved production.

Its razor-style wit and opulent score ensures the story is always bright and fresh.

The story sees a resourceful baker, Figaro, played by up and coming baritone Morgan Pearse, help an ardent young count, Almaviva, court the intelligent beauty Rosina (Kathyrn Rudge) who is being forced to marry her miserly guardian.

Rosina is being kept under lock and key by grumpy Bartolo in one of ENO favourite Andrew Shore’s signature roles.

But the youthful and cunning prevail even though the plot – and the weather – gets stormy.

Their victory is celebrated in music of pure joy sure to leave audiences smiling.
