FOLLOWING the release of her new studio album I Am, Leona Lewis will embark on her first UK tour in three years during which she will return to Dorset.

Leona, who made her name as the winner of X Factor and went on to conquer the charts, will be at the Bournemouth International Centre on Saturday February 27 2016.

She was born in Islington, north London, to a Welsh social-worker mother and a Guyanese youth-worker father and knew from an early age that performance was her dream and attended the Brit School for Performing Arts & Technology in Croydon.

The success of Bleeding Love was matched by its parent album: Lewis’s eight-million-selling debut, Spirit, saw her “break America” and become the first British female solo artist to top the US Billboard 200 album chart in more than two decades.

Since her meteoric rise to global fame, Leona's voice has captivated millions of people across the world.

Her 2010 Labyrinth Tour won her critical acclaim as well as reinforcing her position as one of the most successful British female artists to date.

Her new album, I Am has been described as an upbeat and powerful assertion of Leona’s individuality, with a new found confidence and strength that has not been heard before by the singer.

Leona released Thunder, the first song to be taken off the album, in June.

Discussing her excitement and anticipation of the upcoming shows, Leona said: “I'm so so excited to announce a 2016 UK Tour!

"I cannot wait to get out and perform all the new songs for you and some old favourites too!”

The tour will see Leona performing tracks taken from I Am, as well as some her biggest hits including; Bleeding Love, Run, Better In Time and Happy.
