AN ELECTROSWING quintet will perform in Bridport this week - followed by the return of the much-loved Frolic Disco.

Swingrowers will perform at Bridport Arts Centre on Saturday (14) at 8pm. The five-piece will bring their mixture of jazz, swing and sounds derived from the electro dance scene - giving it a modern flavour.

The band are best known for their large tour of Europe and North America and for supporting the likes of Parov Stelar, Chinese Man and Caravan Place. Swingrowers' new album, Remote, was released last December and they are now taking their live show across the world.

Following Swingrower’s set on Saturday night, the entertainment will continue with Frolic Disco, the age defying danceathon for people who like their grooves fast and varied. Frolic Disco started in Bridport May 2011 and has become a popular and well loved, ego free, community event. It boasts a broad age range who enjoy dancing to quality eclectic music.

Claire Shilton, known as DJ Claire Crumpet, Frolic’s founder, said: "It is really exciting for Jonny and I to be joining up with Swingrowers and the Arts Centre.

"Our last night in the summer was a great success with 300 people passing through the door."

Bridport Arts Centre will have a 2am extended late night curfew for those who want to dance into the small hours.
