A RARE duo performance is taking place in Salisbury on Saturday.
National folk treasures Martin Carthy and John Kirkpatrick are set to give a warm, natural and charismatic performance.
BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Lifetime Achievement Award winner Martin Carthy, for more than four decades has been one of folk music's greatest innovators, one of its best loved, most enthusiastic and, at times, most quietly controversial of figures.
John Kirkpatrick is one of the most prolific figures on the English folk scene, performing solo, in duos, acoustic groups and electric bands, and has established an enviable reputation as an instrumental virtuoso (melodeon, Anglo concertina and button accordion), as well as a leading interpreter of English folk music.
Martin Carthy and John Kirkpatrick are appearing at Salisbury Arts Centre on Saturday at 8pm. The doors and bar open at 7.15pm. Contact the box office for tickets.
