A TIME travelling comedy thriller with elements of pure farce will be performed by Weymouth Drama Club.

Communicating Doors by Alan Ayckbourn will be performed in the Warehouse Theatre, Weymouth, February 18 to 20.

In the year 2035, a dominatrix is summoned to a hotel suite to administer to the frail and elderly Reece.

Reece is an unscrupulous business man, who far from wanting her sexual services, wants Poopay to witness his confession about his misdeeds. He further acknowledges how the vicious Julian, Reece’s, psychotic business partner, carried out Reece’s wishes in killing his two wives.

Julian discovers the confession and tries to get hold of it from Poopay. Poopay manages to get away from him and escapes through the hotel room’s communicating door. Instead of finding herself in another room, Poopay discovers that the communicating door is a portal that takes her to the same hotel suite, but back twenty years to 2015.

In this room she meets Ruella, Reece’s second wife. At first Ruella thinks Poopay is a drug crazed lunatic and has her removed from her room, by Harold, the hotel’s prudish but obsequious security guard. Ruella eventually understands that Phoebe has travelled back from the future and that Julian intends to kill her that night.

Ruella in turn travels back in time, arriving in the same hotel suite, but in 1995. Here she interrupts Reece and Jessica, Reece’s first wife, on the first night of their honeymoon. After several misunderstandings Ruella is able to warn Jessica of Reece’s plans for her.

By finding the ability to travel back and forth through time the three women attempt to change history and at the same time try to save themselves from the evil clutches of Julian.

The play is being presented on a thrust stage with the audience seated very close to the action on the three sides. All seats offer a good view of the stage.

Tickets are priced at £10 and are available from weymouthdramaclub.com or by phone, where booking charges apply, on 0333 666 3366.
