SOPRANO Rebecca Newman took to the stage with a local choir to wow the audience at Weymouth Pavilion.

The busker turned chart-topping singer performed with the One Voice Choir Weymouth.

The choir began with Esta Es El Tempo, followed by five of their repertoire.

Unannounced, Rebecca then joined the choir in Nella Fantasia.

John Ellis, of One Voice Weymouth, said: "She then moved into her list of songs including some that she had written. Interspersed with her singing, she included some entertaining anecdotes of her carrier thus far that included many highs and lows. Her positive nature has brought her through as she now looks positively to the future."

Another group of Weymouth performers also joined Rebecca on stage - dancers from Weymouth’s Let’s Dance were led by a dance duo. Rebecca’s show included I Dreamed a Dream, Fields of Gold, Nessun Dorma and ended with Time to Say Goodbye.

Mr Ellis added: "It was a wonderful evening of song and dance through a well balanced programme by a lovely lady and local performers.

"They were the ingredients for a great evening."
