ARTISTS are collaborating to provide an insight into the world of arts and crafts, and inspire a new generation of creative souls.

This weekend, on July 30 and 31, The Town Mill in Lyme Regis will be hosting the first of two special summer weekends – Inspire! Arts and Crafts in Action.

The weekend will see The Mill’s own thriving resident community of artisans joined by local artists and craftsmen demonstrating their particular medium and expertise.

The demonstrations will offer people an insight into different skills and creativity and a chance to make something unique and learn the craft of a new skill.

As a special treat, on Saturday evening from 5pm, Lyme’s own acclaimed blues musician and songwriter Adam Sweet will be returning to The Mill to entertain visitors once again in the Courtyard with his virtuoso guitar style and unique voice.

Adam first picked up a guitar and started strumming away at the age of seven. His first ever gig was at the Marine Theatre when he went to watch The Hamsters.

As years have passed, Adam has continued to mould his craft and through constant gigging to fine tune his style.

His sense of melody has been described as timeless.

Wood-turner Liz Kent will be showing how she makes wooden bowls and vases on a lathe and will have a selection of turned items on display.

Artists and photographers are encouraged to spend time at The Mill over the weekend to paint, draw and capture the unique complex.
