From communing with nature to enjoying some outdoor entertainment there's plenty of offer in this area this weekend.

*HOPE the weather follows suit as the WARM Festival is hosted in Dorchester's Borough Gardens on Sunday.

Musicians will perform in the county town's gardens from 1pm all in memory of late local musician Steve Charles, raising money for the Help a Friend Help a Friend fun. Entry to the event is free.

*THE Fireman's Charity Ball tomorrow evening from 7pm at Bridport Leisure Centre will raise money for the Firefighters Charity.

The ball will celebrate 20 years of serving the local community from St Andrews Road.

There will be live music from Stillyano - national Battle of the Bands finalists. There will also be a marquee, bar, hog roast, charity auction and a tour of a fire engine. Dress code is black tie and summer frocks.

*LEARN more about the plants and animals that depend upon the hedgerows with a Hedgerow Habitat Walk leaving from Lorton Meadows Conservation Centre in Weymouth at 2pm tomorrow.

It costs £3 for adults and £2 for children.

*ENJOY a summer sizzler barbecue at The Boot in Weymouth from 1pm tomorrow. Alongside the barbecue, which will be raising funds for worthy causes, will be music from DuKane.

*THE Wessex Festival: More Than Mozart continues until Sunday in Wimborne.

*EXPLORE the difference between bugs and beetles at Lorton Meadows in Weymouth during a Caterpillar Kids session at 10.30am on Sunday.

*LISTEN to music and poetry for a summer afternoon at St Swithun's Church Hall, North Allington, Bridport, on Sunday from 3pm.

Cream teas are included in the ticket price, which is £6. Money will be raise for the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust and tickets are available from the Weldmar Shop on East Street.

*OUTDOOR cinema comes to Studland Beach with a screening of The Full Monty tomorrow evening.

*THE Matchstick Fleet Exhibition is continuing in Weymouth at the Nothe Fort until August 29.

Come and be amazed at the detail and accuracy of the scaled matchstick replicas of modern warships on display. The whole of the exhibition area is filled with these exquisite models that have taken one man a lifetime to build.

The exhibition is open from 10.30am to 4.30pm daily and normal fort admission prices apply.
