THE Bridport Arts Centre Comedy Cafe is getting a new home for one night only on Wednesday with another top line up of comedy talent fresh from the Fringe.

The Lyric Theatre in Bridport is set to host the popular comedy night for this month’s show on September 7 with building work still continuing at Bridport Arts Centre.

The show will be headlined by the award winning James Alderson, a master of observational stand up and a hit with audiences of all ages.

James headlined the comedy cafe in 2013 and was a huge hit with the crowd and is now back by popular demand.

In the meantime he has performed internationally from New York to Switzerland, has appeared on TV in the UK and the US and last year won Best Comedy Act at the WOW247 awards.

Opening the show will be one of the most exciting new satirical acts, Joe Wells.

Joe has just returned from the Edinburgh Fringe where he has been performing his critically acclaimed show 10 things I hate about UKIP for the last month.

Dubbed a ‘star of the future’, Joe’s political comedy has caught the eye of some of the biggest names in stand up.

Runner up in this year’s South Coast Comedian of the Year competition, Sunjai Arif, and resident comedian Niki McCretton will also be performing.

As ever, Bridport comedian Tom Glover will MC the show, chatting with the crowd and road testing his latest material.

Tom said: “I can’t wait to get back into the new look Arts Centre space but it is exciting to take the comedy cafe to a different venue for the first time.

“I hope our regulars will be happy to make the trip across the road and it would be great to see some new faces in the crowd as well.

“This month features some of my very favourite acts and it’s a real mixed bill with something for everyone.”
