A GALLERY in Tincleton, near Dorchester, has waved a fond farewell to the summer as it kicks off its autumn series of magical concerts.

The season of musical events at Tincleton Gallery at The Old School House, started in true style with pianist Ronan Magill playing a charming classical programme of works including Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight’ Sonata and Tchaikovsky’ Grand Sonata.

Ronan was a protegee of Benjamin Britten and studied music in Paris.

Tonight’s concert will feature the sensational international violist Lisa Izumi performing.

Lisa started studying the violin in the UK aged four, and is currently living in Japan. This will be her last performance before she returns to Tokyo.

She will be accompanied by Ronan for a programme which includes a stunning poème by Chausson – one of the most expressive and romantic pieces in the violin repertoire.

Ronan and Lisa are an exiting new partnership attracting much attention.

The original classroom of The Old School House prides itself on being an intimate venue and a wonderful space for music.

Space is limited but there may still be some places available for this event.
