*SUPPORT Dorset Echo reporter Rachel Stretton's cake sale in Dorchester town centre tomorrow (8) between 10am and 2pm.

She will be selling a variety of homemade cakes between 10am and 2pm outside Barclays bank in South Street to raise money for the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust as part of her Strictly Ballroom dancing challenge.

Rachel is currently learning the Cha Cha and will be performing it on November 25 in a bid to raise £400 for the local charity.

*A SIXTIES quiz night will be held tomorrow at Dorchester Football Club starting at 7.30pm.

There will be suitable prizes for quiz winners and the best 1960s costume. The bar will be open and there will be a bring and share buffet.

Ridgeway Radio and the mayor and mayoress of Dorchester have joined forces to raise money for the radio station and for the mayor's funds through the quiz.

*ENJOY Opera Up Close in Dorchester tonight to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.

Music Oft Hath Such A Charm will be at the Corn Exchange tonight from 8pm.

There will be performances of songs, operatic arias and ensembles inspired by the Bard's plays and poetry, performed in the company's engaging, intimate and theatrical style.

*THE spirit of Michael Jackson will be at Weymouth Pavilion tomorrow evening with The King of Pop: The Legend Continues.

The production stars MJ tribute artist Navi, who will be joined by Jackson’s original lead guitarist - Jennifer Batten.

Jennifer was Michael’s 'right-hand woman' on three sell-out world tours. She was initially hand-picked to play on the Bad Tour but Michael was so impressed that she joined him on the road for the next 10 years.

*WHY the Whales Came from the Michael Morpugo novel will be performed in Dorchester Corn Exchange on Sunday afternoon.

Multi-award-winning performer and storyteller Danyah Miller will be bringing the enchanting tale of fun, mystery and adventure to life at 2.30pm. Call Dorchester Arts for tickets.

*A CONCERT of a cappella and piano will be held at the Church of the Holy Rood, Wool, on Sunday from 3pm to 4pm.

Canzonetta will make a return to the church to perform songs spanning five centuries, including 20th century favourites.

*TAKE in some Thomas Hardy in west Dorset as The Woodlanders is performed in Lyme Regis.

This tale is presented by Hammerpuzzle Theatre Company and intertwines and unravels misplaced affection, fathers and daughters, a woodland community and above all, love.
