AN ENTERTAINING evening is promised in Stourton Caundle near Sherborne when Jimmy Crawley performs tomorrow evening.
Jimmy, a central figure in the world of Irish folk music and song for forty years, is not only a a superlatively talented singer and player of double-stringed instruments, but also an entertaining and innovative performer.
He has travelled the world, taking the music of his native Cork to stages and festivals wherever good music is enjoyed, and is also in demand as a noted songwriter (and collector of traditional songs), ballad opera composer and ethnographer.
An evening in his company is always entertaining and stimulating – and often thought-provoking.
His visit to The Trooper at Stourton Caundle tomorrow is part of an all too rare tour of the UK.
*Jimmy Crowley is at The Trooper, Stourton Caundle, at 8pm. Tickets cost £10 in advance from 01963 362890, or are available on the door.
