FAMILY theatre is coming to Littlemoor this weekend.

Big4Littlemoor is presenting AsOne Theatre production The Fisherman’s Daughter at St Francis of Assisi Church in Littlemoor, Weymouth, on Saturday.

Even small children are welcome and all will all be able to watch in comfort, with mats for tots and seating for adults and larger children. Snacks and refreshments will be provided during the interval.

Littlemoor vicar Lorraine Dobbins said: “We are so happy to be bringing this play to Littlemoor, and hope to be able to hold regular theatre, music and literature events in the future, thanks to the Big4Littlemoor project.”

The Fisherman’s Daughter tells the story of 10-year-old Jess as she waits for her fisherman father‘s return one stormy night. Jess faces her fears, dreaming of shipwrecks, sea monsters and treasure. Through a chance meeting with the colourful, retired librarian Moira and a hilarious one-legged seagull, Harold, Jess discovers the healing magic of books.

This charming play is theatre for all the family, with puppetry, original songs and a creative dusting of AsOne magic. The play is being put on thanks to the support of the Lottery-funded Big4Littlemoor community project. For more information on Big4Littlemoor, visit www.big4littlemoor.org.
